Ethiopia Guji Hambela

This coffee comes from the Hambela Washing Station in the Guji region of Ethiopia, a region which enjoys ideal coffee growing conditions with volcanic soils, high altitude a bi-modal rainfall pattern, and dry weather for the coffee cherries to develop slowly. Hambela is a fairly large operation of about 200 hectares, consisting of a coffee plantation (in partnership with 1,000 farmers from whom coffee is also sourced), a dry mill and three washing stations including two in nearby Guracho village. They are committed to improving quality and productivity and in 2014 obtained their own export licence enabling them to establish direct relationships with buyers.

This particular lot displays typical washed Guji floral characteristics of white flowers and jasmine with lime, raspberry and black tea.
