Coffee from the Kabiufa area is usually sold in small volumes at one of the many roadside stalls from where it often ends up blended in unremarkable Y Grade lots. This is the case when there is no dedicated local coffee buyer to access and market the regionality of the coffee. 

In 2019, a Kabiufa local, Moses Venapoe, decided to build a buying station for his community after attending several coffee workshops held by one of the exporters. Moses had a determined focus on producing coffee of the best possible quality from his community. He implemented the best post-harvest and processing practices and recommened his suppliers and other local farmers, took the same approach. Unlike other coffee buyers who traded parchment, Moses bought red cherry only and paid premiums of up to 30% above market price. He built a wet mill in his own back yard to ensure full control of the wet milling, fermentation and drying of coffee. Cherry was hand sorted and dried on raised beds after milling. 

In the short time Moses has been in operation he has quickly built a reputation for producing coffees of quality with good consistency. This lot is testament to the good work Moses and the local farmers of the Kabiufa community have been doing and is a real treat to enjoy!
